 End Time Perspectives
Israel: The Promise Kept / Not Coincidence!

And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. (8). And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. Genesis 17:7,8

The rebirth of the nation of Israel in 1948 is unique among all the nations in history. The entire nation was destroyed, not once, but twice. Amazingly, after each devastation it came back into existence. Not only was the nation destroyed twice, but each time the vast majority of the people were taken captive into foreign countries. Yet, the Jewish people always returned to the land: all this points to the uniqueness of Israel. This nation is not like other nations.

In 586 BC, the Babylonians totally destroyed Israel, Jerusalem and their temple. This destruction resulted in nearly all the Jews being taken captive to Babylon. When a people were taken captive as the Jews were, they usually were lost to history. The Jewish people are different. They, remained in Babylon for 70 years and then returned to rebuild Jerusalem and their temple. This occurred 2540 year~ ago!

The Romans, some 650 years later in 70 AD, again destroyed the nation, Jerusalem and the temple. In 136 AD, the Jews again revolted against Rome. They were totally defeated and suffered their final dispersion into all the world. Very few Jews remained on the land after this war with Rome.

Israel should have ceased to exist as a nation and probably as a people in 586 BC, but it survived. Israel defmitely should have ceased to be a nation in 70 AD, but just as the ancient Bible prophets wrote, the nation was literally reborn nearly 1900 years later on May 14, 1948. In June 1967, Jerusalem once again became the unified capital of Israel. They speak the same language as their ancestors! They kept the same religion while in exile. There is simply no other nation like Israel.

He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations. (9) Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac; (10) And confmned the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant: (11) Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance: Psalm 105:8-11

This covenant focused on the land now called 'the nation of Israel. God, deals with nations according to this covenant. God's covenant relationship with the descendants of Abraham is still in effect. God never cancelled the everlasting covenant concerning the land of Israel. The prophets warned the Jewish people not to turn from God to worship the pagan gods. Unfortunately, they rebelled against God. The penalty for this rebellion was removal from the land and dispersion into other nations. This was literally fulfilled.

Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it: And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them. Ezekiel 36:18, 19

The explanation for the uniqueness of Israel is found in the everlasting covenant that God made with Abraham, the father of the Jewish people, 4,000 years ago. This everlasting covenant is the reason the Jewish people and the nation of Israel exist today. The covenant included the land of Canaan becoming an everlasting possessIon for the Jewish people. Today, the area of Canaan includes Jerusalem, Israel, Gaza, West Bank (Judea and Samaria in the Bible), Golan Heights and southern Lebanon.

The Everlasting Covenant Made by God

The Bible does not say the nation would be permanently destroyed but because of the everlasting covenant, God would one day bring the Jews back into the land of Israel.

Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land. Leviticus 26:42

We are now living in the time that the ancient Jewish prophets wrote about, the nation of Israel has been reborn and Jerusalem is once again its capitaL The reality of God and the Bible then can be "proved" through the fulfillment of what the Bible states about the nation of Israel. What an awesome concept this is, Bible prophecy is alive before our very eyes! God warns the nations that the land of Israel is not to be divided, because the nation that attempts to divide Israel, God will judge

I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted (divided) my land. Joel 3:2

The United States has been Israel's best friend. Unfortunately, starting with President George H.W. Bush in 1991, America pressured Israel to divide the covenant land· with a Palestinian state. This is in violation of the Bible, and started with the Madrid Peace Process and continued to this day through the administrations of Bill Clinton and George W. Bush

On the very day the US government pressured Israel to divide the land awesome disasters hit the nation. Since 1991 there have been over 50 such correlations. Below are ten examples of what happened when the US pressured Israel to divide the covenant land

October 30, 1991: President Bush initiates the Madrid Peace Process. While he is speaking in Spain the Perfect Storm sends 30 foot waves against his home in Kennebunkport, ME destroying the house.

August 24, 1992: The Madrid Peace Process transfers to Washington and meets for the first time. On this day Hurricane Andrew destroys southern Florida with category 5 witlds. At this time, it was the greatest disaster in US history.

January 17, 1994: A powerful 6.8 magnitude earthquake centered in Northridge rocked the Los Angeles area. The result was widespread destruction and $25 billion in damages. The day before President Clinton met with Syrian dictator Assad and pressured Israel to withdraw from the Golan Heights.

March 1, 1997: Arafat arrives in the US to discuss Jerusalem with President Clinton. On the very day Arafat landed powerful tornadoes devastated huge sections of the nation. It was one of the worst tornado storms in the nation's history. The states of Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio suffered tremendous damage.

May 3, 1999: The most powerful tornado storms ever to hit the United States fell on Oklahoma and Kansas. The meteorologists officially measured the winds at 316 MPH making it the fastest ever recorded. President Clinton sent a letter to Arafat telling him to be patient for a Palestinian state and they had a right to "determine their own future on their own land," and deserved "to live free, today, tomorrow and forever."

August 27, 2005: On this day, Israel removed the last of the Jewish settlers from Gaza. This was done under pressure from President Bush. On this day Hurricane Katrina was named for the first time. Two days later it slammed into New Orleans creating the greatest disaster in US history.

January 9, 2008: President Bush went to Israel to assist in the implementation of dividing Israel with his two state plan'. On this day massive tornadoes stretched from Alabama to Wisconsin. It was the worst January tornado storm in history. The stock market plunged at this time causing the president to create a $165 billion economic stimulus to save the economy,

On June 3, 2008, Secretary Rice and Israeli Prime Minister Olmert spoke in Washington, DC. Once again, Rice promoted the creation of a Palestinian state by dividing the covenant land of Israel. PM Olmert later met with the President. While PM Olmert was in the US about dividing Israel, the economy was melting down; plus there were torrential rains in the Midwest which would result in one of the worst floods in US history. A few of the news headlines follow: DOW Falls Nearly 400 on Oil Surge; Oil surges $11 to Record 138; Foreclosures Reach Record High in First Quarter; Unemployment Rate Jumps highest in 22 Years; and Dangerous Storms and Tornadoes rake the Plains This Week.

In mid-June, Secretary Rice traveled to  Israel continuing her agenda to divide Israel. She condemned Israel for building homes in Jerusalem and indicated the US would not recognize the homes as part of Israel! While she was pressuring Israel over Jerusalem, the

Midwest was devastated by its worst flood in history! The news headlines read: Midwest Floods Devastate Corn Crops; Iowa's Raging Rivers Force 20,000 From Homes; and Flood Hits Food Prices. The floods resulted in $Billions in crop losses and $Billions in property damage.

The Second Coming of Jesus Christ

Jerusalem is so important to God because it is the location of the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible states just prior to Christ's return Israel will be a nation and Jerusalem will be the center of world attention. Just as the Bible stated, today, Jerusalem is heading toward the center of world attention.

And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. Zechariah 12:3

Jesus Christ will return when Israel is once more a Jewish nation with Jerusalem as the capital. The attempted destruction of Jerusalem will trigger His return. The world is now racing toward this confrontation over Jerusalem and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west. .. Zechariah 14:4

Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so corne in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey. Acts 1:11, 12

God's prophetic plan is all laid out in the Bible. Events in the Middle East are now accelerating toward Christ's return. Are you ready to face Jesus Christ? The nation of Israel was rebomjust as the prophets predicted thousands of years ago. Jerusalem is once again its capital. More and more Jerusalem is the focus of world attention. The prophesies about Israel confirm that the Bible is truly the word of Godl

You can now make an everlasting covenant with God for your eternal life. This is done by repentance from sin and trusting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Do not delay in trusting. Christ as your Savior, as God's prophetic plan is accelerating, and time is running out.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13
